As South Florida’s exclusive not-for-profit Theater for Young Audiences, Miami Theater Center (MTC) is dedicated to bringing exceptional theater and arts experiences to children, families, and communities throughout Miami-Dade County. Our programs and performances are designed to captivate audiences of all ages through creativity, culture, and meaningful engagement.
Our offerings include plays, music, and dance created to engage and inspire young audiences. We are also deeply committed to accessibility, ensuring that our productions and educational programs are open to everyone. Through partnerships with educators and schools across Miami-Dade County, MTC reaches thousands of students each year through innovative school programs, enriching field trips, and performances brought directly into schools.

THE SNOWY SAY AND OTHER STORIES

Step into the world of Peter and his friends in this imaginative musical play inspired by Ezra Jack Keats’ beloved stories. Through innovative shadow puppetry and enchanting storytelling, children explore snow-filled adventures, playful discoveries, and the simple magic of growing up.
MIAMI INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL

MTC’s annual celebration of global storytelling returns with a week of engaging performances designed especially for elementary students. Featuring dynamic artists from around the world, this festival sparks imagination, cultural awareness, and joyful discovery through theater, music, and movement. A vibrant tradition that brings young audiences together in celebration of creativity.
SCREENDANCE MIAMI

Presented in partnership with Miami Light Project, ScreenDance Miami showcases groundbreaking dance films from visionary choreographers and filmmakers. MTC hosts school screenings for dance students across Miami-Dade, paired with master classes and artist talkbacks that deepen understanding of movement as cinematic art. An immersive experience at the intersection of dance and film.
ZORA FOLK TALES

Introduce students to the power of storytelling through the words and work of celebrated author and anthropologist Zora Neale Hurston. Set in 1930s Eatonville, Florida, Zora Folk Tales brings Hurston’s vibrant folk tales, songs, humor, and history to life in an engaging, interactive theater experience. Students become part of the storytelling as they help shape the action, explore the traditions behind the tales, and create stories of their own. Through performance, audience participation, and imaginative play, students discover how stories connect us to our history, our communities, and one another, while developing their own voices as storytellers.
