Miami, FL (June 2017) – Miami Theater Center (MTC) is proud to present Colours “a nonsense” by conceptual director and performer Natasha Tsakos. Performed for the first time before a live audience.

Tsakos invites us on a fool’s odyssey as he battles to make sense of a new world after surviving an apocalyptic catastrophe, in search of a bathtub.

Author David Livingstone Smith, hailed Colours as “delightful, intriguing, insightful, hilarious, and unsettling,” and Mosaic Theater’s former director of play readings, Ruth Resnikoff, has called the play “a small masterpiece.”

A peculiar commentary on the human condition facing the perplexities of modernity, Colours, the play, is also an art book, a literary curiosity, and an audio epic all in one – as well as the Gold Winner of the 2017 IBPA Benjamin Franklin Digital Award.

“Visually stunning… there was an almost Shakespearean aspect of play to this work, like a children’s book for adults as experienced through a haze of confusion.” -IBPA Benjamin Franklin Gold Award Review.

In Colours, the literary curiosity lays in the intricate and surprising play of language,

entirely and intentionally composed of a mixture of real and imaginary words — twisted, invented, pun intended. A testament to Tsakos’ out-of-the-box thinking, Colours bridges ideas, absurdity, and philosophy, while fusing words in a judiciously dynamic way. For the exhibit itself, guests can expect a striking display of the book’s artwork.

Colours is an experience Samuel Beckett, Dr. Seuss and Albert Camus might have enjoyed debating
over microchip cookies and rambutan tea. Enjoy the nonsense!” says Tsakos of her live and limited engagement. The show premieres June 16th and runs through June 17th at MTC’s intimate blackbox theater – The SandBox. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm. Do stay for the After X-hibit Party following the performance for a book-signing of COLOURS: A NONSENSE, and conversation over libations with Natasha Tsakos. All artwork featured during the show will be for sale. Tickets: General Admission $25.
