South Florida Theater Company Hosts Annual Musical Theatre Summer Camp for Kids and Launches Teen Theater Workshop

Miami, FL (May 3, 2016)Miami Theater Center (MTC) will host the first Teen Theater Workshop this summer in conjunction with Musical Theatre Summer Camp for young kids. Aspiring thespians between the ages of 6 and 12 are encouraged to sign up for summer camp and those between 13 and 18 years old can participate in the new teen theater classes.


The first session of Musical Theatre Summer Camp will run from June 13th through July 1st and the second session will begin July 18th through August 5th. Classes for both sessions take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. The inaugural Teen Theater Workshop will start July 5th through July 23th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Summer camp for kids costs $650 per session and the teen program costs $650.


MTC’s trained, talented company members will direct the theatre summer camp classes and open children’s eyes, hearts and minds to the transformational power of musical theater through songwriting, dance and acting. Artistic Director, Rosalind Thomas-Clark, from Boston, alongside professional actors Josh Santora and Elyas Harris will lead the theater teen workshop classes. Teens will help develop a professional production based on the play Everyman by Carol Ann Duffy.

Musical Theatre Summer Camp classes will take place at Miami Shores Presbyterian Church located at 602 NE 96th Street in Miami Shores.
